Done and Back

Wow, well nobody probably reads this anymore because I haven't updated it in a decade. But now, I am done everything for the semester. Man that feels good. So if there is anyone left, I am sorry and I know I say it every time but I will be updating more often. That is until march when I freak out again, but I am back for now.

Well I guess the only thing to say is Merry Christmas and I hope this post finds you well. Comment if you still actually check this thing!

Upcoming Events

Hey gang...hope you all had a great long weekend and Thanksgiving..gobble..gobble....hope you didn't OD on turkey!!

For those of you who didn't know, Spideyman Dan was in town for the weekend as well as Janelle and Darrell! And those who attended church Sunday got to see them. Yeah!!

Bake Sale, this Friday 7-9 and Saturday 8-noon at the church upstairs in the foyer. Also, please drop off your baked goods at the church by Thursday evening between 6:30-7:30, if possible. Please attend to help with the sale as requested.

Also, PEI Exalt is coming up October 21-23 in PEI. I think Cathy has the names of the six who are attending. You know who you are, and I'm sure Dan and Darrel are looking forward to seeing you there.

Cathy has also added in the church bulletin that our youth are willing to do small jobs for seniors for a donation....etc., yard work...we'll let you know if we get any calls.

Also...remember to tell your parents that we're collecting Sobey's cash receipts and we would love to have theirs!!

Oh yeah, it's that time when we are filling the shoe box for Operation Christmas child...we will fill you in on more details Monday nite.

Have a great week and see you Thursday or Friday or Saturday!!

Ok everyone...hope you're all psyched for tonite!! I know I am! We are looking forward to seeing you all back again, hope you are too!!
Tonite you will be meeting your old (not too old) leaders and also your new leaders (please don't scare them away)!!! We want them to stay!! So you might say tonite will be a meet and greet for all of us.

Also, put on your thinkin caps and bring some ideas with you on fund raising. As you know ( or some of you do) the PEI Exalt Conference is coming up October 21-23, which is only for grades 10-12....sorry..can't sneak any grade 9ers in this year. So we have to get some fund raising hapening. We were thinking of another Bake sale, possibly a bottle drive...etc.

And for those of you who ordered The X ball hats and t-shirts from Dan (we know who you are) don't forget to bring your money for them. $12.50 for the hats and $18 for the shirts.

So see ya all tonite at 6:30....and don't forget...pickup is at 8:00...oh yeah...and don't forget our "dress code" ....especially the ladies...otherwise I'll have to dig out those lovely, lovely shirts frm the costume closet...and you know how nasty some of them are!!

Have a lge day!!

Picture Of The Week!

Ok so to keep this thing updated while I am away I have decided to post a new picture every week. That picture will be the "Picture Of The Week." Makes sense right? I will probably add a little commentary too. So there ya go.

This pic is of the group, the whole gang if you will. Well not really since some of you missed but that's ok! Anyway, this same picture is also posted on the Maritime Christian College website so you may want to check that out in the links section to your right. You may also notice on the right that I added a handy dandy verse of the day! You can listen to it and everything. Man I am technologically inclined! Anyways that's all for now.

I miss you guys!

The "X" SLEEP-Over!

Well guys the end of the summer is looming on us like Darrell on a toasted pizza and balogna sandwich! The of course means that school is coming but it also means that it is time for the end of the summer sleepover! This summer there is only one sleepover because I have a hard time finding people who will stay up all night with you guys. So keep that in mind this time and maybe we can bump it up to two!

Ok, this is the info that you need. So make sure you remember this stuff and tell your friends! Here is the plan.

Friday August 19th
7:00-8:00 - You get here and then we hang out and set up tents and eat stuff! Now that sounds FUN!
8:00-9:00 - We all gather around and listen to Dan teach us stuff. After he is done there will be a time that you can hang out or if you need to talk about anything with a leader this is a great time to do it.
9:00-10:00 - Awesome games that will rock!!!!!!!
10:00-11:00 - Glow in the Dark Football! I am super pumped for this!!!
11:00-11:45 - More games!!
11:45-12:00 Time to get ready for bed
12:07ish-7:32ish - SLEEP!!!!!!!!
7:40 - Dan will be around with an obnoxious wake up call... smarter to already be up at this point really... but whatever you think!
8:00-8:45 - Breakfast
8:45-9:45 - CLEAN and I mean this place is spotless! And take all you stuff with you!
10:00 - Go HOME! All your leaders have other engagements on Saturday so you really need to be out of here by then.

By the way no girls ever mentioned having tents to bring so if we don't' have enough you will be sleeping inside! So get a hold of me! Leave a comment!

I'll see you on the feild! Darrell!

Wow. I hardly know what to say. What a day. Those of you who were able to attend can totally back me up. That was an absolutely amazing time. The bands were great, the atmosphere was great, the weather was great, the people were great and most of all our God is so great.

Well when we first got there Thirst for you was the first band and they were pretty good. The drummer was the lead singer and they all did a great job!
  • Thirst For You

  • Next was the LaPoints and they were top notch as always! I had never seen them play with a live band before but they were great.
  • The LaPoints

  • Three Season Ant is an awesome band. We will be listening to their CD at the X tonight. They are amazing musicians and people. I had oppurtunity to chat with them for a bit after their set and they are super guys!
  • Three Season Ant

  • Then one of the headliners was up. ZOEgirl. I have to admit that I really wasn't all that excited to see them but they really blew me away. They put on a great show and had some songs with some real depth. They tugged at this guy's heart. They put on a great show and had some very insightful things to say.
  • ZOEgirl

  • Lunch at Dairy Queen was good, just ask Zack!

When we got back to Worship East it was time for The Contact and man they were awesome! If I wasn't as broke as a broke I would have went right back and bought their CD! They were great!
  • The Contact

  • Carried Away was next on the list and they are 3 very talented gals. Their harmonies were awesome.
  • Carried Away

  • Then what was for me the highlight of the night, Big Daddy Weave. I'll tell ya what, they really just led us into the preasence of God and we had an amazing worship time! They were Amazing!
  • Big Daddy Weave

  • Good times! So who is coming next year?

    Baptized!

Wow, I can barely tell how excited I get when I see you guys make decisions that will change your lives in ways that none of us can fully understand at this point. I absolutely love doing what I do and working with you guys. I love hanging out and teaching and playing games and so on and so forth. This however is the highlight, when I watch you make decisions or watch you get baptized or baptize you myself. More than anything else, this is why I do what I do.

Lily, I am so proud of you. It has been awesome to watch you grow in your faith and I will be praying for you that you will continue to grow and lean on him. Congratulations on your decision!

    Romans 6:1-7
What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? By no means! We died to sin; how can we live in it any longer? Or don't you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.
If we have been united with him like this in his death, we will certainly also be united with him in his resurrection. For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin— because anyone who has died has been freed from sin.

    TONIGHT

Tonight instead going mini golfing, it looks like we will be having a MOVIE NIGHT instead due to the bad weather. So still come at 6:15 and get picked up at 9:00 and we should have a good time!

    Tuesday, July 12, 2005

    News!

Hey everyone! This post is to let you know about some happenings that are taking place really soon, just in case you missed on Monday night or you weren't listening... like that would ever happen.

Wednesday July 13 - Yes that is tomorrow night! We will be going to the Bucket Club to mini-golf. You need to be at the church by 6:15 if you want to go. If if you are too late, we will have to leave without you. Your parents need to be back at the church to pick you up by 9:00. BUT DAN, WHAT IF IT RAINS? I'm glad you asked. If it rains we will be switching our mini-golf night with MOVIE night. So if it is raining then come anyways and we'll watch Napoleon Dynamite or something.

Sunday July 17 - This is a special day because Lily G. will be getting baptized after service. If you can make it, you should come. If it is any incentive at all, Dan will be preaching.

Monday July 18 - We will be moving on to week number three in our Sex in Six weeks series. This message will discuss "How far is too far?" So try to be here and bring your friends... assuming that you have them...

Finally Wednesday July 27 - This is the real MOVIE night unless we do it tomorrow in which case this will be mini-golf.

In closing, I look good in red.

    Monday, June 27, 2005

    Baptized

Congratulations to Chelsey G and to Matthew C! Your decision to be baptized in to Christ yesterday is awesome and inspiring! Remember this is not an end but a beginning and I am totally excited about the things that God is going to do in your lives!

    Summer Fest!

Well for the past week or so Summer Fest has been in progress and on Saturday we had the Summer Fest parade. Starting last year we saw this as a good opportunity to have a fundraiser as so many people watch the parade from the church yard. So to all of you who came and helped with the bake sale/BBQ/car-wash, thank you.

This year, however we also put a float in the parade! Zack, Ian, Alex and Taryn rocked out on the "X" float and you guys were awesome! 3rd place in medium floats, way to go guys. Thanks to those of you who walked with the float as well.

I'll put some pics on too!
