Baptized

Congratulations to Chelsey G and to Matthew C! Your decision to be baptized in to Christ yesterday is awesome and inspiring! Remember this is not an end but a beginning and I am totally excited about the things that God is going to do in your lives!

Summer Fest!

Well for the past week or so Summer Fest has been in progress and on Saturday we had the Summer Fest parade. Starting last year we saw this as a good opportunity to have a fundraiser as so many people watch the parade from the church yard. So to all of you who came and helped with the bake sale/BBQ/car-wash, thank you.

This year, however we also put a float in the parade! Zack, Ian, Alex and Taryn rocked out on the "X" float and you guys were awesome! 3rd place in medium floats, way to go guys. Thanks to those of you who walked with the float as well.

I'll put some pics on too!

Lily won a few awards as did Ashlee and Cassandra. Brianne won an award and so did Emily Albright. Congratulations you guys! You did well and I am proud of you.

Next! I was also privledged enough to attend the Miss Keswick Valley pageant on Friday night. From the "X" we had Laura B., Tiffany B., Chelsey G., Katelyn, Lily and Chelsey P. All of you gals did great and I was proud that so many of you chose to plug the "X" in either your Bios or whatever. I am also pleased to announce that Tiffany B. was Miss Friendship and 1st princess and our very own Lilbert is the new Miss Keswick Valley! Way to go gals! (Also congrats to Christie Yerxa for winning 2nd princess!)

Taylor Mason's Ball Cap

Hey guys, you are probably just getting home from exams or home after school or reading this 8 days after it has any relevance anymore... Regardless, tonight we are going to watching a DVD featuring Christian comedian Taylor Mason. He is a super funny guy and I think you guys will really enjoy him. Now I know that a lot of you in high-school won't be coming tonight because of "exams" (like seriously what is more important, school or funny stuff? C'mon). That is ok, because it is my understanding that most of the middle school group won't be here next week so we may do the video again next week, just a different aspect. Anyways, should be good.

IN OTHER FUN AND EXCITING NEWS! - you should really yell that wherever you are right now... Do it! I would like to order The "X" ball caps this week so you want one then you really have to let me know so that I can put your name on the list. Also if you want an "X" tee-shirt then you have to let me know so that I can put your name on that list. Keep in mind that the shirt is the same as last year's so you may not want two... but then again two might be nice! Both caps and T-shirts make lovely birthday, anniversary and Christmas gifts! Let me know.

Give It Up!

Well guys, our "Give It Up" series has come to a close and we covered a lot of ground. Even though I am sure you all remember everything about it, I thought I would put a little recap on here today.

On May 16th we talked about giving up your time and how it is important to make time to pray, read the Bible and share your faith with others. In general we looked at whether or not we have time for the things of God.
  • (Ecclesiastes 3:1-8)

  • On May 23rd we talked about giving up your hurt and how alot of the time we carry around with us a lot of pain and sorrow that we don't need to carry around with us because God will take it from us.
  • (Matthew 11:28-30)

  • On May 30th we talked about giving up your life and that is what God truly desires and is the only way to salvation. We also talked about how Jesus gave it up and how we can do the same.
  • (John 10:1-18)

  • Finally last night we talked about giving up your lifestyle and that Jesus doesn't just want your life but he wants to be your life. We also addressed how the old life has to die in order for a new life in Christ to exist.
  • (Romans 6:1-14)

  • It is my prayer for you guys that you will fall into the arms of God and GIVE IT UP!

Hey, This is Dan in his office, come see him anytime! Posted by Hello

    X Marks The Spot

Greetings one and everyone! Welcome to the official blog of The "X"! This blog is being set up to make all of you aware of what we are doing in youth group, keep you updated on upcoming events and to let all you hosers who can't make it on any given night know what fun you missed out on!

This is also a great place to ask questions that you may have about God or life and we well try to get them answered (although I don't recommend you ask extremely personal questions here as everyone and their dog can read them!).

So see what is new with the X, check back soon!
