NEWS!!!

Ok, everyone here is the deal, THE TOTAL DEAL!!! Youth Group is getting a face lift and this is what it looks like. From 6:30 to 8:00PM the middle school portion of the X will meet and the high school portion will be from 8:00-9:30PM. The only time this will not be the case is on the first Monday of every month. On that day the whole group will meet from 7:00-9:00.

For those of you who may be checking out the website for the first time, The "X" is a group that meets to hang out, play awesome games, learn about God, take fun road trips and attend cool events. All are welcome and there is of course no cost for regular youth group events.

For those of you who do check the blog often, HAHAHAHAHAHAHA you are back in school!!! And for the first time I am not! HAHAHAHA, this is me laughing at you!!! Have fun and do good!

Worship In the Square 2

Join JoyFM and Compassion Canada for a free large scale worship experience in Officer's Square from 7:00 - 10:00, featuring the music of faith and worship by The LaPointes with special guests Three Season Ant and a city-wide church of more than 500 voices together under the direction of Janice LaPointe McLaughlin. There will be a kids' corner with face-painting, balloons and treats! This will be a worship experience to remember!

You guys should come and check this out because it will be a TON of fun! Three Season Ant will be at the Exalt conference this year at MCC so it will be a good opportunity to hear them so you can sing along at their show in Charlottetown.

As Hockey Night In Canada ends, so does Hockey Night In BC with the Burtt's Corner Church of Christ Return Again!

Tenting Over

Friday night, this is the deal. We will meet behind the church at 7:00pm to set up tents and all of that fun kind of stuff. At exactly 7:34ish pm we will go Keith Foreman's place to have a campfire and play fun and exciting games! After we have done that we will come back to the church around 10:00pm and play our annual night foot-ball game. When that is done you will be getting in your tents and SLEEPING!!!!! The next morning I will make your breakfast and your parents will pick you up at 10:00 am.

Ok, so here is the deal, the TOTAL deal. Wednesday August 9th, we will be meeting at Wilson's Paintball at 6:15ish. This way we can play from 6:30 until 8:30. The cost is 23$ for gun rental and 180 paintballs or 35$ for gun rental and 500 paintballs. So you will have to decide what you want on that front. This will be a lot of fun. See you there!!!

Now, if you are not going paintballing and you are a GIRL!!!! Then you may attend instead the "Girl's Night Out" that is happening. If you would rather do that then you need to meet at the church at 5:30. You will then be driving to Boston Pizza for supper (you have to buy your own meal) and then going to the Foremans place to watch "She's the Man" and then be driven home.

Important NEWS!!!

Ok, so I forgot that Monday was a holiday! This means that Monday August 7th is New Brunswick day. This means that Youth Group will be cancelled. That's ok though because we are still going paintballing on Wednesday or a girls night out!! THEN the Tentover is on Friday. Please pass this message along as I know a vast majority of our group does not check the blog!! I will post details on Paintballing, girl's night out and the sleep over very soon... very. Tell everyone. Right now. GO!

The Bucket Club!!!

Hey there Blog faithful! Just wanted to let everyone know that on Wednesday we will be going to the Bucket Club. The cost is 12 bucks and that will give you a bracelet to do pretty much whatever you want for like 3 hours! We will meet here at 6:00 SHARP!!! This should put us at the Bucket Club around 6:30 and we will stay there until 9:30. Your parents should pick you up at the church by 10:00.

If you could let me know IF you are coming that would be great! (This does not mean leave comments saying "I can't come" or "What is your policy on lunch?" or "How do you play parcheese?")

The "X" Events

Alright you bunch of bushwhacking cheese eaters, here are some of the summer events!! I do not have all the details at this point but I will have them soon!!!

Wednesday August 2 - We will be going to the Bucket Club to club buckets!!!! Or golf, water slide and other fun things of the sort.

Wednesday August 9 - We will be paintballing at Wilson's Paintball and there will be a "Girls Night Out" as well.

Friday August 11 - We will be having our annual Tentover at the church!!!

Theres a New Blog In Town

Hockey Night In Burtt's Corner I am proud to say was very successful in its first meeting of the Summer. This was an evening of fun for those playing, along with those watching.
Spectators were treated to some wonderful Hockey, along with a showing of Coaches Corner in between game 1 and 2 on the Night. There was truly fun to be had, ask Christian and Jacob who put on the comedy act for us.
I encourage you to come out and watch if you never last week, and maybe even participate, we have a lot of fun and there is plenty more to come in the weeks ahead.

" Hockey Night In Burtt's Corner" with the BCCOC

Disregard the picture above, Jesus is not a Vancover Canucks fan. Remember our lesson a couple weeks ago about how the team Jesus plays for is the Winning team. That only means of course that He is a Leafs fan. Go! Leafs Go!.
The actual purpose of this post is to inform you about Hockey Night In Burtt's Corner which will be happening for the first time July 13/2006 which is next Thursday.
I really hope that everyone will be able to show up to this event and help in keeping it going regularly during the summer. The cost is going to be $5.00 starting out, and we will be playing from 6:00pm- 8:00pm.
This will be a great oppurtunity for us to get to know each other better and to also have fun with some of the other people in the congregation because the age for playing is going to range from 12+.
Also for anyone not interested in playing Hockey with the gang, but is interested in just showing up to watch, I would like to give you a special job if you would be so gracious as to volunteer your services ( I think I spelled volunteer wrong...twice!)

Well I am so sorry I couldn't make it but I heard that all those crowned in the Miss Keswick Valley Pagent were from the "X"!!! That is awesome. Erin D was crowned Miss Friendship. Chelsey P was crowned Second Princess. Lisa H was crowned First Princess. And finally Ashlee A was crowned Miss Keswick Valley!

Regular Youth Group

Just to let anyone who actually reads this thing on a semi-regular basis that tonight we are going to have regular youth group... for tonight. Then it will be a little different again for a while but it will still be awesome as always!

Tonight I will be here. Then I am gone for a little while (2 weeks). During this time Darrell "I Eat Kids Like You For Breakfast" Haines will be leading the "X" so give him the respect he deserves. On another quick and exciting note, summer youth group starts soon so make sure you tell everyone of the excitement that is the "X"!!!!! and tell them to check the blog too.

Wedding Things

Ok, so tonight youth group is going to be a little different. It is actually going to be a wedding shower for Janelle and I and we are really grateful to the community for throwing it for us. I love Burtt’s Corner. It starts at 7 so I hope to see you all there.

Celebrate!

Well this past weekend marked the spring youth conference for 19 of us and it was a blast! Kelly Scrugs was the speaker and he gave us reasons to celebrate. The band was unified and they did a fine job as well.


We had some big moments on the trip. Joseph showed everyone what a man he was by beating up Brianne...


He then enjoyed his first Bacon Mushroom Melt EVER!!!


Darrell and I had more pie than any person should be allowed to consume at a time.



On top of that we had some pretty intense games of "Skunk" and had some amazing worship times and good small group times as well. It was a big weekend and we had a blast!

Hey everyone! I know this thing hasn't been updated in a while, at least not by me, but that is all about to change! Firstly because I am updating it RIGHT NOW but also because I am back in town for good this time! So this is just a little update to let you know that we are going to have a blast this summer so make sure you come to the "X" so that you don't miss out on all the awesomeness.

The first thing you need to know is that we are going to the Spring Youth Conference this Friday and won't be back until Sunday. Also the "X" is cancelled for Monday because it is Victoria day. You know what that means! This is the day that we set aside to pay tribute to Victoria Leachman. In her honor it is only appropriate that you dress up in old fashion Victorian dress and decorate you home in a Victorian setting. This is what that looks like:



Each of you should then invite Victoria to your house and show her the masterpieces you have created.

MCC Worship

Hey gang...hope you all had a great Easter weekend. I sure did.

Just wanted to remind you that this Sunday April 23 the MCC Worship Team is here frm PEI and Dan, Ben, and Darrell will be attending. This will be the twins last appearance as they graduate on the 30th of this month. So if you want to attend please let myself or Cathy know. We will be leaving the church around 6ish..do the Tims thing first...and it's at F'ton Church of Christ. Hope to see a few of you....let the others know. I'm sure we'll have some great music and it'll be a fun time.
